The current world economic crisis makes it clear that to be reflected on the relationship between education and economy from scratch. In BVJ be pointed to the problems. In recent years, the youth work in Saxony but has lost more than 10 percent of their budget and more than 28 percent of their full-time positions. is repeatedly argued over, hot debates have been fought and still does not seem the answer to the question of the politics of youth work in Saxony clearly be. Right here it has to do with youth unemployment and poverty, and right-wing opposition to democracy, economic crisis and alleged lack of public funds. A situation, but only with the intervention, its own democratic attitude and resistance resistance may encounter. Is the youth ready for it? Does the policy in a tradition of youth work in Saxony? 25.3. Why critical social work? What does the study group Critical Social Work, Frank Bettinger, a professor of social work, Darmstadt

From the self-understanding of the ACS: "The need presented itself ... because ... of the" status "of social work in theory and practice and the dissatisfaction of practitioners and practitioners, students with developmental tendencies of social work, also the disparate activities of a number of colleagues ... That, and E. a common forum for the (further) development of critical theory and practice of social work should be found, not only to combine the individual efforts of a critical theory and practice of social work in a common project, but also to a critical practice and counter-public to mainstream social work / social policy and the hegemonic neoliberal discourse to further strengthen

hegemony, a term which denotes Antonio Gramci established the dominance of an ideology. Neo-liberalism dominated the thinking, all areas of life are ökomisiert. In the practice of social work, this development draws under the issues of budgeting, quality control, social management and so on. Gramsci refers to human concepts to counter this?

Social work is the dual mandate safe. Sandwiched between target group well and the state order, social work degenerates all too often the supervisory body. Where young people prepared for working life, deviant behavior is being sanctioned only, it is clear that represent social workers also just a cog in the power structure. described and analyzed theoretically, this Michael Foucault. One way the evidence base of social science is to question the critical theory, beginning with their dialectical view of science as opposed to the dominant critical rationalism their starting point in the social totality. If some assumptions of critical theory are shared, have large areas of sociology, psychology and adjacent thereto - social work be re-thought.

is always faced with the challenge of balancing the exercise of control and selection functions on the one hand and the citizens of committed, justice-oriented help function on the other produce. Critical, progressive social work approach is here from the democratic, from the solidarity thank derived position. How hard it is at present, not only shows the situation of social workers in the scandal over the child care in Halle / Saale, but the everyday professional conduct of a large proportion of employees determined in both public and at private institutions of social work. So how can a social work look like the white, the "humanization Profession" committed? What attitudes and what knowledge do social workers who know they are a pro-gressive, target group-oriented, paritizipativen social work required. What structures and approaches to work resulting from this? These questions will be explored in this event.

self-understanding of the Working Group on Critical Social Work Dresden

self AK Critical Social Work Dresden

In an era in which the regulatory policy Czech arm of the state particularly hard engages, the economy is in particular the foreground and the Neoliberalism has become an almost global hegemony, social work is trapped in the contradictions of society and their own profession. Changing society demands onside, subordinate in anticipatory obedience to the social workers and technocratic monetary formal constraints. With the fine suit of quality management dressed, enters homo ökonomicus the stage. In precarious employment without status in collaboration with other professions are social workers and social education in with their backs to the wall. The situation in the Saxon capital Dresden is characterized not just different. It is discussed whether we should relocate youth to a youth in order to reduce the budget items. Professional premises, even the background or even the fate of the young people do not play a role.

The ACS will launch the trial of intensive theory - practice a critical bond with current political context and the social work field work to deal . Share He commented on current developments in social work will develop further the reflection and criticism of its members and the theory - to promote dialogue - practice. This dialog should be the Man and the critique of domination and power relations in the foreground. When tuning the Social Work does not want the chorus of critical rationalism, does not want to hide in the academic ivory tower - new approaches must be developed. A multi-pronged strategy of professional professionalism, critical reflection and representation must be established.

The AKS Dresden, are currently located about 10 to 15 people to the circle, is open to new members opposite. Only one criterion - to bring the willingness to study positions and theories against the grain and to transfer knowledge in a critical reflection on attitude and action. White Spots By A Tooth That Has Been Pulled

The second trip: Três de Maio

This second short trip on 4.6. served only the purpose of working again ... for this trip to "third parties may," this is the translated name of the city, I had time to get up early because I wanted to use the transfer of UNIJUUI to come to Três de Maio. There is a minibus that drives the students to the campus of Ijuí UNIJUI in Santa Rosa and Três de Maio is on the way from Ijuí to Santa Rosa, about 80 km from Ijuí. Well, this minibus and drove just starting at 6:30, just luckily only 5 minutes walk from the Pensao. ... But it was quite cold already this morning, then 0-1 ° C ... I went with my entire German winter equipment los.

The interview in COTRIMAIO, the cooperative of Três de Maio, I had arranged for 10:30 clock to arrive in Três de Maio clock at 7:40 I did ... and it was still cold. Fortunately, I was already on the way from the highway into the center of 24,000 inhabitants town identified a bakery that Padaria Schneider, where I first time a slow breakfast with a milk coffee and a ham and cheese sandwich (that is here torrada [tohada, "Toasted"] and in the rest of Brazil, I know, Misto Quente [Kentsch misto, "Mixed hot"] indulged for the equivalent of about 0.90 €. But even this did I am not around more than an hour. At least, but now even the time that opened the stores in the city, which had for its size quite a lot and nice and shops, so I took the chance to stroll around a bit and one or the other, I anyway would like to purchase, worried. On that occasion, I informed myself as well as I would be best to COTRIMAIO, because if I had so much time, I needed so I do not necessarily come to take a taxi to get there and it was too far from the size of the city anyway not be. And that was it, too. Although the COTRIMAIO was at the end of the city and I was running so slow that I almost ran backward, I did not need more than 20 or 25 minutes to get there.

Fortunately, the people in Brazil are indeed quite flexible and so the interview was a little time be brought forward. This interview I will even coincide with the two people COTRIMAIO, Marcos and Joao Carlos. Actually I only wanted one and my methodology is intended only for an interviewer, but the second came after a few minutes just been added and I did not want to say, "No, want to talk to you not me." And in the end it was even good, for Joao, who came second, was already serving about 10 years older than Marcos and had so much more to tell. The days I have also read a magazine regarding soy and Joao was quoted in it in some places. Without knowing it so I have spoken with a quasi-celebrity;)

After the interview, I asked about the time for the next bus to Ijuí and after a short phone call to the Rodoviária of Três de Maio, I received the info: 15 clock ... and this time it was just 11:30 clock time ... So again ... sell. And the stores close here in the region even as good as all good at lunch time 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Clock ... Well, so I had lunch at another bakery, which was on its way to the city center. And then to Rodoviária ever buy a ticket (and make sure that it would actually take that long until the next bus, which was the same for ...) and then a bit in the sun on a bench chill and write a few SMS to Germany. Meanwhile it was also quite got warm (about 17 degrees in the shade and full sun) and I was sweating from almost one with my winter coat, but to complain about the sun and heat would be pretty much the last thing I would do. When the shops opened again, I took the opportunity to buy even a few souvenirs:) ... and of course one or the other for me * g *
Total Três de Maio is a very clean city and even safer than Ijuí (man sees always remember how much fence, etc., or not mounted around the houses and in Três de Maio, there was like almost no), and I enjoyed the little shopping. And since the town was so small, it was also really easy to find their way here. The only thing more dangerous than here in Ijuí were in the cars ... Ijuí keep the cars at the crosswalk that exists in the center and otherwise take a little consideration for pedestrians. Três de Maio in zebra stripes are regarded as urban beautification and pedestrian action, and indeed the will dissolve itself into the air, because if the middle of the street, and you get unexpectedly shot to the corner. You just have to keep them properly, then the already done ...

After the bus had left at last 15 clock because he needed about 2 hours about 80 km to Ijuí to get behind him, for he kept every few miles , it's something like the local train on tires.

of Três de Maio I forgot to take pictures, but a landscape from the "Regional Express Bus"

The following Friday (5.6.) I had then another interview in Ijuí, again with a very prominent Figure: With Rui, who has been about 20 years ago the President of the FecoAgro, the Federation of Cooperatives of Rio Grande do Sul (not all, but most of the cooperatives). During the week, he resides in the 450 km or 6-7 hours away by federal state capital of Porto Alegre, but his actual residence in Ijuí (what luck for me:)) and, of course, he is friends with my supervisor Walter (as ever said Walter knows God and the world in this sector).

How Long Will My Cat Smell Afterlime Sulfur Dip

... and yet more interviews

This first week of June has been the coldest week I have experienced here. At night / morning 0-3 degrees during the day between 8 and 13 and just not a big opportunity to flee before the temperatures. You can cover it at night but nice and take ne hot water bottle (which I have risen this week), but inevitably this has its limits, that is below the chin. And so you wake up every morning because with these temperatures with a bit of neck pain, which try to be but after breakfast with hot coffee again.

This week began on Monday (1.6.) With an interview with Mr. Modesto, a major soybean producer with 500 acres in the country. He was a super warm person and very nice and even though his name I always wanted to "Domesto" instead of "Modesto" and even though I make it just even 10 years too many had given (at the beginning of the interview I always ask the age of the interviewees and in Portuguese I confuse more often times the sixties to the seventies and so I noted with 74 instead of the actual 64 years ... ups! But he seems to have it taken from me not :)). But he was completely smitten general of GM soy and soybean farms and saw all very optimistic.
And he was far too far from the only one of GM soya was great. The vast majority found it really ne very good thing, with certain restrictions, of course, but they're seeing it as something positive. And well, you talk so, as a small budding environmental scientist with these people who are totally mad and soya can these people still can not find odious views, because they are basically good-hearted people when you get to know them so. And those with whom I have spoken to now represent all the interests not of Monsanto & Co, but to make the same for other reasons, mainly just because the production of GM soya is (still) cheaper than that of conventional soybeans and the sale price is the same whether for conventional or GM soya ... and some even argue with the fact that it's better for the environment because it ceases to 5 different hammer herbicides must be applied but "only" Round-up / glyphosate. This has
me busy for a while, otherwise it is the farmers who grow GM crops, as "evil people" before and then learn to know these people and realize that there is nothing diabolical turn on them. There are other reasons why they grow the genetically modified soya and if those reasons were not good, then farmers would not take the fact into account that they give into the hands of the multinationals.
the way, there were however a few precautions are taken: In the FUNDACEP, pretty much the largest agricultural research facility in Rio Grande do Sul, are planted anew each year, conventional soybean varieties, and harvested the seeds, even if their seeds in Moment as well want to have as anyone to get the genetic resources in the event the Monsanto the bar of the charges ("Royalties") for the use of "their" gene of the Roundup Ready soybeans and also for their total herbicide Roundup to highly depends or other problems occur. In this way, the very least, in theory, be returned to the conventional soybeans. could
There are of course the objection that the genome of the genetically modified plants that mix of wild plants and that of the native species of plants, which in principle is correct (eg that happen namely Bt corn in Mexico and even though there not even grown Bt corn, but from the United States is imported and sold there ....) Only in the case of soy in Brazil and in South America, this risk is quite low, because the native of China, soybean is anyway not a native plant here in nature and has no close relatives in which they could "interfere". Good, but this is only a problem that one can exclude the case of GM soya in Brazil.
(Who's interested: here's a documentary on Arte about Monsanto's pesticides and genetic manipulation)
Oh, and just do not believe you safe from GM soya, which is produced here. Europe, along with China, the largest buyer Brazil's soy and cattle breeding (and it is meant any livestock: cattle, pigs, chickens) in Lower Saxony is also a big presence ... However, it is only here in Rio Grande do Sul so that almost 100% of farmers grow GM soya. In Mato Grosso, the state with the largest soybean production in Brazil, so far as "only" 50% of the soybean acreage cultivated with GM soya. Upward trend, however ....

on Wednesday (3.6.) I was really busy, so I sent out even equal to 2 interviews: In the morning with Júlio, Ijuí the Agriculture Secretary of the city. This interview was also very nice and interesting and also a very open-minded Júlio Once we have continued to interview men talked even about 1 hour (although I was thinking the whole time that I rob the good man's time, but it was mainly he talked so far ...). And in the afternoon with the Volnei EMATER / RS Regional, whose office is, fortunately, only 300m away from my Pensao (for the other interviews I have, most often, nearly crossing the entire city). The Ematik is a private company, but it is the state paid for it to advise the farmers and provide them with know-how. The interview with Volnei was one of the interviews, where I learned the most and understood, because he has made super a lot, before the interview and after the interview and by him I've got a book for my topic:) and I have talked with him after the interview a bit. Many of my interviewees are quite curious, because as it is in Germany or tell me about the things they were doing when they had been to Germany.
I could now repeat again, that Volnei was super nice, but I leave it now simply a matter of saying that most people with whom I have interviewed, were very interesting people (otherwise they would probably all even in the positions where they are) and that they were all really nice. This is now the next and for the Persons who are called in the following.

Well here are a few Fotoleins (even if they do not fit the context):

scene near the Pensao
The sun shines on here mostly, but it is just not as real warm, except in the blazing sun , as one of the otherwise Brasiien knows
04 perto da pensao This here is the "dining room". When I took the photo that was just discovered breakfast (and I was probably pretty much the first that came to breakfast), so the table is on the wall, because people are coming anyway, just a few drops at breakfast, because one does not need so much space. To Lunch and dinner, the table is then moved to the center. Right shows the original wooden shutters from the house to which the dining room and the kitchen were added in the background.
