A life worth Dresden our time has to find economic prosperity, high culture and tourism are characterized by a highly developed social infrastructure, participation of all people living in the city in civil, social and cultural life and integration in a democratic community. Dresdner social and youth work experience in their practice often have different Dresdner face: unemployment rate (12%) is high, 57,000 people are dependent in Dresden of transfer payments in Book II, the figures on poverty and child poverty are clearly increasing, the life of immigrants in nursing homes are of concern asylum seekers, extreme-right activities are increasing, neighborhoods and individual streets are becoming social problem areas.
Dresdner youth and social work makes in all these places a significant contribution to improving the life of people, to promote participation and successful integration.

set as new / r Dresdner Mayors in a variety of conditions under which people live in this city. You have the opportunity to make during your tenure in these areas.

We - as representatives of youth and social work and our clients - expect you to implement the following, much-needed points. We are ready to support you in this work energetically and advice.

first Active strategy against child poverty
child poverty is no longer marginal. She is now a mass phenomenon that is also clearly evident in Dresden. Poor children and young people are structurally excluded. Poverty situation of children and young people are often associated with limited life and chances. Poverty is the biggest risk factor for child development. It works from early childhood and has long term consequences. Therefore, we encourage you to create the conditions that give children and young people from poor families a fair chance to develop their individual potential and to develop, healthy to grow, perform educational and promotional offers and such a good starting position for another way of life and maintain their professional perspective.

  • free food in school and KITA,
  • free public transport for children (<>
  • free learning resources for all students.

second Social integration
The living conditions of citizens of Dresden, which are dependent on benefits in Book II, SGB III and SGB XII or employed in low-wage sector have deteriorated dramatically. This poverty situations lead to exclusion from social life, let self-confidence and self-action forces dwindle involvement and increase the risk of mental illness. For this reason, we ask prospects worth living in our city.

- preventing the concentration of people who are dependent on transfer payments in Book II, on individual neighborhoods or streets;
- Social Ticket public transport at the level of the proposed mobility SGB II rulesets (15.43 €);
- extensions of the services of the Dresden-pass (swimming pools, museums, library, etc.) and the possibility of applying for the passport in the local offices.

third Offers youth work
Dresdner youth has something to offer to children and young people for integration, education and recreational activities within a democratic youth work. The variety of services and facilities testifies to the mature, tried-and-demand act of child and youth services. The facilities and offers face the challenges and issues affecting children and young people every day . Bring It is evident that, needs and concerns such as poverty, unemployment, failure in school and problems in families increase significantly. For the realization of integration and participation of the colleagues, however, require reliable structures and perspectives.

  • strengthen the supply of open work for children and young people (we see the danger that an attempt is due to the low birth cohorts to cut in this area, the demand is not lower);
  • maintaining the multi-annual funding for carriers to plan security to ensure in carriers and projects.

4. Improvement of individual regulations in the "educational support"
get in Dresden, about 1,300 children, adolescents and families assistance to education according to SGB VIII Despite numerically small decreases do the professionals in the facilities to increasingly challenging multiple problems. Here it takes quick decisions and extensive support in the care planning discussions.
We do work overloads and high absenteeism in the general social services that bear witness to that increased staff and more qualified. Dresden although fortunately not to the closed placement of children and adolescents Scope of SGB VIII reproaches are currently housed 17 children and young people in other states of such bodies in which youth support principles is clearly contracting. This aid must be stopped promptly.

  • strengthen the desire and right to vote (§ 5 SGB VIII) for children, young people and people custodians;
  • improve cooperation between independent and public sources;
  • no assignment of facilities of closed placement with children or young people from Dresden. Immediate termination of the support;
  • enable Sozialpädagogischer intensive individual tutoring and abroad again; not bind
  • granting of necessary educational aids to the minimum duration of a previous three-month consultation;
  • need-based increase in staff at ASD;
  • no construction of facilities and services of the closed accommodation in Dresden.

5th Qualification of the youth policy planning processes with the participation of carriers and
addressees
youth policy planning is operated in Dresden, accountable and transparent. However, we see with the understanding of participation and professional discourse still potentials to tap that will be. If participation means also participation, then the target group of youth; So the children, adolescents and families to participate consistently. Furthermore, the experts are fully involved.

      • Consistent involvement of the district committees and technical working groups at the youth services planning, appropriate time;
      • involvement of children, adolescents and families in the youth services planning.

6th Dealing with refugees
The daily life of themselves as "cosmopolitan" designating Dresden is unfortunately still the discrimination of people of German and non-German origin. Particular problems we see in the human rights cropped treatment of refugees, which try to build a new life. This structural discrimination to an end, we ask:

  • Consistent decentralization of accommodation for asylum seekers;
  • training intercultural competences of the employees of the local immigration office.

YOUTH AND YOUTH WORK IN SAXONY "

The Presentation of the Third Saxon Children and Youth Report "a few weeks ago is reason to engage critically with the situation of children and young people in Saxony as well as with the state of children's and youth work. As in Saxony, the use of social workers in BVJ now enshrined in the Education Act, is discussed in particular the prospects for action. The discussion would also deal a critical assess-ment of the relationship between schools and economy. The current world economic crisis makes it clear that to be reflected on the relationship between education and economy from scratch. In BVJ be pointed to the problems. is repeatedly argued over, hot debates have been fought and still does not seem the answer to the question of the politics of youth work in Saxony clearly be. Right here it has to do with youth unemployment and poverty, and right-wing opposition to democracy, economic crisis and alleged lack of public funds. A situation, but only with the intervention, its own democratic attitude and resistance resistance may encounter. Is the youth ready for it? Does the policy in a tradition of youth work in Saxony? 25.3. Why critical social work? What does the study group Critical Social Work, Frank Bettinger, a professor of social work, Darmstadt

From the self-understanding of the ACS: "The need presented itself ... because ... of the" status "of social work in theory and practice and the dissatisfaction of practitioners and practitioners, students with developmental tendencies of social work, also the disparate activities of a number of colleagues ... That, and E. a common forum for the (further) development of critical theory and practice of social work should be found, not only to combine the individual efforts of a critical theory and practice of social work in a common project, but also to a critical practice and counter-public to mainstream social work / social policy and the hegemonic neoliberal discourse to further strengthen

hegemony, a term which denotes Antonio Gramci established the dominance of an ideology. Neo-liberalism dominated the thinking, all areas of life are ökomisiert. In the practice of social work, this development draws under the issues of budgeting, quality control, social management and so on. Gramsci refers to human concepts to counter this?

Social work is the dual mandate safe. Sandwiched between target group well and the state order, social work degenerates all too often the supervisory body. Where young people prepared for working life, deviant behavior is being sanctioned only, it is clear that represent social workers also just a cog in the power structure. described and analyzed theoretically, this Michael Foucault. One way the evidence base of social science is to question the critical theory, beginning with their dialectical view of science as opposed to the dominant critical rationalism their starting point in the social totality. If some assumptions of critical theory are shared, have large areas of sociology, psychology and adjacent thereto - social work be re-thought.

is always faced with the challenge of balancing the exercise of control and selection functions on the one hand and the citizens of committed, justice-oriented help function on the other produce. Critical, progressive social work approach is here from the democratic, from the solidarity thank derived position. How hard it is at present, not only shows the situation of social workers in the scandal over the child care in Halle / Saale, but the everyday professional conduct of a large proportion of employees determined in both public and at private institutions of social work. So how can a social work look like the white, the "humanization Profession" committed? What attitudes and what knowledge do social workers who know they are a pro-gressive, target group-oriented, paritizipativen social work required. What structures and approaches to work resulting from this? These questions will be explored in this event.

self-understanding of the Working Group on Critical Social Work Dresden

self AK Critical Social Work Dresden

In an era in which the regulatory policy Czech arm of the state particularly hard engages, the economy is in particular the foreground and the Neoliberalism has become an almost global hegemony, social work is trapped in the contradictions of society and their own profession. Changing society demands onside, subordinate in anticipatory obedience to the social workers and technocratic monetary formal constraints. With the fine suit of quality management dressed, enters homo ökonomicus the stage. In precarious employment without status in collaboration with other professions are social workers and social education in with their backs to the wall. The situation in the Saxon capital Dresden is characterized not just different. It is discussed whether we should relocate youth to a youth in order to reduce the budget items. Professional premises, even the background or even the fate of the young people do not play a role.

The ACS will launch the trial of intensive theory - practice a critical bond with current political context and the social work field work to deal . Share He commented on current developments in social work will develop further the reflection and criticism of its members and the theory - to promote dialogue - practice. This dialog should be the Man and the critique of domination and power relations in the foreground. When tuning the Social Work does not want the chorus of critical rationalism, does not want to hide in the academic ivory tower - new approaches must be developed. A multi-pronged strategy of professional professionalism, critical reflection and representation must be established.

White Spots By A Tooth That Has Been Pulled

The second trip: Três de Maio

This second short trip on 4.6. served only the purpose of working again ... for this trip to "third parties may," this is the translated name of the city, I had time to get up early because I wanted to use the transfer of UNIJUUI to come to Três de Maio. There is a minibus that drives the students to the campus of Ijuí UNIJUI in Santa Rosa and Três de Maio is on the way from Ijuí to Santa Rosa, about 80 km from Ijuí. Well, this minibus and drove just starting at 6:30, just luckily only 5 minutes walk from the Pensao. ... But it was quite cold already this morning, then 0-1 ° C ... I went with my entire German winter equipment los.

The interview in COTRIMAIO, the cooperative of Três de Maio, I had arranged for 10:30 clock to arrive in Três de Maio clock at 7:40 I did ... and it was still cold. Fortunately, I was already on the way from the highway into the center of 24,000 inhabitants town identified a bakery that Padaria Schneider, where I first time a slow breakfast with a milk coffee and a ham and cheese sandwich (that is here torrada [tohada, "Toasted"] and in the rest of Brazil, I know, Misto Quente [Kentsch misto, "Mixed hot"] indulged for the equivalent of about 0.90 €. But even this did I am not around more than an hour. At least, but now even the time that opened the stores in the city, which had for its size quite a lot and nice and shops, so I took the chance to stroll around a bit and one or the other, I anyway would like to purchase, worried. On that occasion, I informed myself as well as I would be best to COTRIMAIO, because if I had so much time, I needed so I do not necessarily come to take a taxi to get there and it was too far from the size of the city anyway not be. And that was it, too. Although the COTRIMAIO was at the end of the city and I was running so slow that I almost ran backward, I did not need more than 20 or 25 minutes to get there.

Fortunately, the people in Brazil are indeed quite flexible and so the interview was a little time be brought forward. This interview I will even coincide with the two people COTRIMAIO, Marcos and Joao Carlos. Actually I only wanted one and my methodology is intended only for an interviewer, but the second came after a few minutes just been added and I did not want to say, "No, want to talk to you not me." And in the end it was even good, for Joao, who came second, was already serving about 10 years older than Marcos and had so much more to tell. The days I have also read a magazine regarding soy and Joao was quoted in it in some places. Without knowing it so I have spoken with a quasi-celebrity;)

After the interview, I asked about the time for the next bus to Ijuí and after a short phone call to the Rodoviária of Três de Maio, I received the info: 15 clock ... and this time it was just 11:30 clock time ... So again ... sell. And the stores close here in the region even as good as all good at lunch time 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Clock ... Well, so I had lunch at another bakery, which was on its way to the city center. And then to Rodoviária ever buy a ticket (and make sure that it would actually take that long until the next bus, which was the same for ...) and then a bit in the sun on a bench chill and write a few SMS to Germany. Meanwhile it was also quite got warm (about 17 degrees in the shade and full sun) and I was sweating from almost one with my winter coat, but to complain about the sun and heat would be pretty much the last thing I would do. When the shops opened again, I took the opportunity to buy even a few souvenirs:) ... and of course one or the other for me * g *
Total Três de Maio is a very clean city and even safer than Ijuí (man sees always remember how much fence, etc., or not mounted around the houses and in Três de Maio, there was like almost no), and I enjoyed the little shopping. And since the town was so small, it was also really easy to find their way here. The only thing more dangerous than here in Ijuí were in the cars ... Ijuí keep the cars at the crosswalk that exists in the center and otherwise take a little consideration for pedestrians. Três de Maio in zebra stripes are regarded as urban beautification and pedestrian action, and indeed the will dissolve itself into the air, because if the middle of the street, and you get unexpectedly shot to the corner. You just have to keep them properly, then the already done ...

After the bus had left at last 15 clock because he needed about 2 hours about 80 km to Ijuí to get behind him, for he kept every few miles , it's something like the local train on tires.

of Três de Maio I forgot to take pictures, but a landscape from the "Regional Express Bus"

03 paisagem

The following Friday (5.6.) I had then another interview in Ijuí, again with a very prominent Figure: With Rui, who has been about 20 years ago the President of the FecoAgro, the Federation of Cooperatives of Rio Grande do Sul (not all, but most of the cooperatives). During the week, he resides in the 450 km or 6-7 hours away by federal state capital of Porto Alegre, but his actual residence in Ijuí (what luck for me:)) and, of course, he is friends with my supervisor Walter (as ever said Walter knows God and the world in this sector).

How Long Will My Cat Smell Afterlime Sulfur Dip

... and yet more interviews

This first week of June has been the coldest week I have experienced here. At night / morning 0-3 degrees during the day between 8 and 13 and just not a big opportunity to flee before the temperatures. You can cover it at night but nice and take ne hot water bottle (which I have risen this week), but inevitably this has its limits, that is below the chin. And so you wake up every morning because with these temperatures with a bit of neck pain, which try to be but after breakfast with hot coffee again.

This week began on Monday (1.6.) With an interview with Mr. Modesto, a major soybean producer with 500 acres in the country. He was a super warm person and very nice and even though his name I always wanted to "Domesto" instead of "Modesto" and even though I make it just even 10 years too many had given (at the beginning of the interview I always ask the age of the interviewees and in Portuguese I confuse more often times the sixties to the seventies and so I noted with 74 instead of the actual 64 years ... ups! But he seems to have it taken from me not :)). But he was completely smitten general of GM soy and soybean farms and saw all very optimistic.
And he was far too far from the only one of GM soya was great. The vast majority found it really ne very good thing, with certain restrictions, of course, but they're seeing it as something positive. And well, you talk so, as a small budding environmental scientist with these people who are totally mad and soya can these people still can not find odious views, because they are basically good-hearted people when you get to know them so. And those with whom I have spoken to now represent all the interests not of Monsanto & Co, but to make the same for other reasons, mainly just because the production of GM soya is (still) cheaper than that of conventional soybeans and the sale price is the same whether for conventional or GM soya ... and some even argue with the fact that it's better for the environment because it ceases to 5 different hammer herbicides must be applied but "only" Round-up / glyphosate. This has
me busy for a while, otherwise it is the farmers who grow GM crops, as "evil people" before and then learn to know these people and realize that there is nothing diabolical turn on them. There are other reasons why they grow the genetically modified soya and if those reasons were not good, then farmers would not take the fact into account that they give into the hands of the multinationals.
the way, there were however a few precautions are taken: In the FUNDACEP, pretty much the largest agricultural research facility in Rio Grande do Sul, are planted anew each year, conventional soybean varieties, and harvested the seeds, even if their seeds in Moment as well want to have as anyone to get the genetic resources in the event the Monsanto the bar of the charges ("Royalties") for the use of "their" gene of the Roundup Ready soybeans and also for their total herbicide Roundup to highly depends or other problems occur. In this way, the very least, in theory, be returned to the conventional soybeans. could
There are of course the objection that the genome of the genetically modified plants that mix of wild plants and that of the native species of plants, which in principle is correct (eg that happen namely Bt corn in Mexico and even though there not even grown Bt corn, but from the United States is imported and sold there ....) Only in the case of soy in Brazil and in South America, this risk is quite low, because the native of China, soybean is anyway not a native plant here in nature and has no close relatives in which they could "interfere". Good, but this is only a problem that one can exclude the case of GM soya in Brazil.
(Who's interested: here's a documentary on Arte about Monsanto's pesticides and genetic manipulation)
Oh, and just do not believe you safe from GM soya, which is produced here. Europe, along with China, the largest buyer Brazil's soy and cattle breeding (and it is meant any livestock: cattle, pigs, chickens) in Lower Saxony is also a big presence ... However, it is only here in Rio Grande do Sul so that almost 100% of farmers grow GM soya. In Mato Grosso, the state with the largest soybean production in Brazil, so far as "only" 50% of the soybean acreage cultivated with GM soya. Upward trend, however ....

on Wednesday (3.6.) I was really busy, so I sent out even equal to 2 interviews: In the morning with Júlio, Ijuí the Agriculture Secretary of the city. This interview was also very nice and interesting and also a very open-minded Júlio Once we have continued to interview men talked even about 1 hour (although I was thinking the whole time that I rob the good man's time, but it was mainly he talked so far ...). And in the afternoon with the Volnei EMATER / RS Regional, whose office is, fortunately, only 300m away from my Pensao (for the other interviews I have, most often, nearly crossing the entire city). The Ematik is a private company, but it is the state paid for it to advise the farmers and provide them with know-how. The interview with Volnei was one of the interviews, where I learned the most and understood, because he has made super a lot, before the interview and after the interview and by him I've got a book for my topic:) and I have talked with him after the interview a bit. Many of my interviewees are quite curious, because as it is in Germany or tell me about the things they were doing when they had been to Germany.
I could now repeat again, that Volnei was super nice, but I leave it now simply a matter of saying that most people with whom I have interviewed, were very interesting people (otherwise they would probably all even in the positions where they are) and that they were all really nice. This is now the next and for the Persons who are called in the following.

Well here are a few Fotoleins (even if they do not fit the context):

scene near the Pensao
The sun shines on here mostly, but it is just not as real warm, except in the blazing sun , as one of the otherwise Brasiien knows
04 perto da pensao This here is the "dining room". When I took the photo that was just discovered breakfast (and I was probably pretty much the first that came to breakfast), so the table is on the wall, because people are coming anyway, just a few drops at breakfast, because one does not need so much space. To Lunch and dinner, the table is then moved to the center. Right shows the original wooden shutters from the house to which the dining room and the kitchen were added in the background.

How Long Does A Laparoscopy Last For

The first trip: Santo Cristo

And on Saturday (30.5.) I also had to get up early again, really early even for a 7 clock in the morning came for me Sidnei and his wife Marlene at a taxi. We went to Rodoviária where we wanted to take the bus at 7:20 to Santo Cristo, which then also at 7:50 finally came. Well 2.5 hours later we stood outside the house of Sidneis parents in Santo Cristo, a 14,000 inhabitants town (14,000 if you count the people living in the surrounding area), which is about 120 km from Ijuí and only about 40 km from the Argentine border away. Here we were taken by Sidneis mother Ilse reception. The house had a strange division, as they came from the garage directly into the living room. However, this was because the house had grown gradually Sun Originally it was in the house to one of these old and typical wooden houses in this area here and originally it was not at all at this place. It was the former home of a teacher in the schools Surrounding area. The school was eventually closed for lack of students (the consequences of the exodus) and so also lived no longer a teacher in this house. Sidneis father decided to buy the house, but did not like living in the place where the house stood. So the house was quickly packed onto a truck and towed to Santo Cristo to its present location. Benefit here is that these houses were always designed so that they could be easily divided into two halves (the rooms in the middle were thus separated by two walls, one wall was part of a per house) was. And by and by then were still there made all possible parts of the house, so that the wooden house from the outside almost invisible is.
inside the house was filled with pretty painted kitchen towels and Tupperware boxes, crocheted doilies and towels with lace or Häkelborde. produce these things, is the women to practice here in the region very much and even though it may seem for us (German) quite corny, the people here find this totally cute and are genuinely impressed by such things. Even Sidnei, so a man told me very excited that his mother had crocheted him and his brother each a rug (respect, I get not even out NEN pot holders ....) And how great this is yet. Well, other countries, other customs. ... And tastes. It is here so that Brazilian women will find some great clothes and accessories that would use us only 13 years old, because for the rest of purple, pink, pink and flowery kitsch would be for our taste.

The weather was really bad this weekend, recalled November in Germany, just a bit warmer. It rained almost all the time, the sky was thick, gray clouds overcast and the day temperatures ranged tired around 10 degrees around (remember please always that it is not in the houses is much warmer. In Germany, I would also be above 10 degrees to laugh but here's what else). Good, but I was actually not from tourism Reasons come, but because of the work. Sidnei had agreed to three interviews with people from here for me. That was very nice of him because of Walter, my supervisor here, I had almost exclusively in Ijuí contacts and it's all about me the whole region, not just here to Ijuí.
Such was soon after our arrival, even at the first interview in the local office of the cooperative COTRIROSA where Sidneis Father Neri is also working and was conveniently across the street. Here I talked with Luciana, the manager of the branch. This was the first interview where I ask for something more stimulating to talk and had since Luciana not every question a 5 to 10-minute monologue responded. But I would say it was a good, relaxed interview (yes I had mitlerweile get even a little exercise:)), even if it was several times interrupted by phone calls and incoming people, but I mean, ultimately I think the people even from their work ... And the sound quality of the recording is probably not the best, because the rain all the time drummed loudly on the roof ...

Luciana and I at the interview. Note the presence of the chimarrão and my winter coat;) 01 Sarah e Luciana

Even if one's looking at you does not necessarily Luciana is of German descent (ie, with last names Talheimer Heinen).

After lunch at Sidneis parents and a few rounds Chimarrao and interviews on television is a short drive went along with Sidnei, Marlene and Sidneis parents from Santo Cristo also in the in the surrounding countryside to the court of Sidneis Aunt Leni, Secretary (non-sense Clerk of!) of the Sindicato de Trabalhadores Rurais de Santo Cristo.

I together with Neri & Ilse Chimarrao and of course:)

07 Sarah com Ilse e Neri

before work the pleasure and so before the interview was the first time a while talked extensively and a few rounds Chimarrao drunk. Finally, it was indeed a small family gathering. At the talks also served from time to time some German or Hunsrücker words through the air, because Sidneis family is of German descent. Leni is a totally nice and friendly, happy person and so was the interview with her very nice. She was a little nervous because she was not accustomed to give interviews, so I often times had to stop in between recording. I've actually interviewed in her capacity as a representative of the syndicate of small farmers and agricultural workers, but since they themselves farmer in a small area, there was also a part of language. She herself also grows soybeans and genetically manipulated. It was not as if she did, because she was convinced of this soy, on the contrary, they made many worry about the potential dangers of genetically modified crops on human health. Their main reason for the growing of Roundup Ready soy was the lack of labor force due to the rural exodus in the region. And transgenic soy makes just yet much less work than conventional ...

After the interview there was then another Chimarrao and cakes and cookies and a photo of Leni and I

03 Sarah e Leni before continuing to the court of Sidneis grandmother and uncle Ivo drove with whom I was to do an interview in his capacity as a small farmer / wanted. As we are on the Court arrived, Ivo, however, was not finished with his day's work and so we stopped only once for a chat with Sindeis grandmother. This had been born a child of German immigrants in Brazil and still been literate in German. And so we talked all the time because even in the beginning when completed Sidneis wife Marlene, who speaks no German, yet something together Sidneis aunt, in German. Well, really high German it was not what language Sidneis grandmother, but emigrated rather Hunsrück dialect (especially from the Hunsrück then, many German to Rio Grande do Sul and also was the dialect of Sidneis grandmother the Palatine, so "my" dialect, very similar, so it seems likely that there is a spatial proximity to regions of origin of the dialects) in which she has so interwoven with a little bit of Portuguese. But overall, it was understood very well (... except maybe for a (n) North German (s), but even for other Germans;)) For parents Sidneis Sidnei and even though it was already a little bit different. Their German was but had already undergone some changes by passing through the generations of Portuguese-speaking environment.
Even the German by Ivo Sidneis uncle was right, "portugisiert" but yet he spoke quite fluently German, so I suggested the interview with him to do in German, while he did not mind. The interview guide was not necessarily easy, because in that all I had said so far only in Portuguese, I had not the German vocabulary for this section. But in any case, it is easier to follow me, for me, of course, the transcription of a German interview is easier than that of a Portuguese interview. At first I thought also that I could save me the translation, but this is still a bit too much dialect expressions in Portuguese and Ivo German. But at least I will not every word and have to translate each sentence.

Ivo and I had the interview (I do not know how it NOT the feet have fallen off the cold, with only the Fliflops ...)

06 Sarah e Ivo

with Ivo for interviews I also made a very nice stroke of luck, for besides that he is a very intelligent and funny person, he is an organic farmer (and also teachers) and also builds its soy to organic. From such Biosojabauern be found today in the region here not too many, especially since the introduction of GM soy. Previously, for many farmers the incentive to produce LAPEL Giava been that this is more expensive and labor-intensive in production, but this is much higher than the sales price of conventional soybeans LAPEL Giava more than offset, so a good profit margin with LAPEL Giava can be achieved. With the introduction of transgenic soya, the picture changed, however, as it is with less effort and less cost to produce and so also with lower sales prices than that of LAPEL Giava yields enough profit. Well, it is easy to handle containing the GM soya

happened ... In addition to the interviews this weekend, then not very much. But who has even break in the rain and cold like something big from the fence? Such was on Sunday Only Sleeping less than 10,000 blankets and Churrasco lunch on the plan before Sidnei Marlene and I drove back to Ijuí.
Churrasco, which are grilled, with a gaucho's every Sunday for lunch. Well, a masonry, solid grill anyway owns nearly every house in Brazil and in Rio Grande do Sul, the grill is very often placed so that you can use it in bad weather, so in winter. In the case of the house of Sidneis parents that was in the garage. The Brazilians are generally all the great barbecue fans, but the Churrasco Gaúcho is supposedly the best of all, and it is actually very tasty. And you can also eat the meat better conscience, for the oxen here at least have a real life cattle and spend their lives on pasture. For these willows are cut down at least here in Rio Grande do Sul, no forests, because the livestock is found mainly as extensive livestock sectors of the naturally occurring grasslands of the Pampas in the south of the state.

Thesis Sttement Of Abortion

interviews, interviews, interviews ... and chimarrão

Well, this week turned, as the title suggests, almost anything just to my interviews. posted

on Monday (25.5.) decreased it to me after 14 hours of sleep after the disaster of the weekend again so far as well, but I was still a little bit and so I let the morning take it easy (that's the advantage in free Timing:)), because in the early afternoon I had my next interview, this time with Prof. Argemiro [arschemihro], professor of economics at the UNIJUI. The self and what was hit, because he had a tooth pulled this morning. That it did not prevent them to talk to almost 2 hours with me and thereby take over 98% of the speech parts, during the actual interviews even 99% is (yes, the interview finally to what the interviewee does not think about what I think). Argemiro so far has something to do with soybeans, as he is constantly making market analysis, not for soybeans, but wheat and maize and the results of this analysis available free of charge makes. For the farmer this information is extremely valuable because they can make decisions based on that analysis, when they think they can sell their production at best. After the interview I asked Argemiro if he could give me some tips on where I can not find literature on the recent history of soybean cultivation in the region. Instead he gave me tips from him to the book written on this subject present. Very generous! And practical:)

The next interview I had on Wednesday morning (27.5) with Luiz, the Vice-President of the COTRIJUI (Cooperative Ijuí), who holds this office already for 12 years.. It is noteworthy that even Luiz "Only" a small farmer with 25 hectares of land is. According to him, it is rather rare that a small farmer holding a high post in a cooperative, as they are considered among the major producers is not as good as they tend to be even somewhat less educated and a simpler language to speak as the "Great "and the big producers he prefers to see someone from their ranks on the board.
So a vice-president is of course much more engaged, more so if the President himself is not there and assume the vice-president of the latter's responsibilities in this discussion. We had planned only a half hour, in the end it was then but 45 minutes because the next visitor late. Good, but that did not help me much further, because Luiz talked already to go from hard-working, God and the world, although I had asked anything at all ... But for the talk about God and the world went so ever 10 - 15 minutes on it. Then I could finally start my record and make my first interview question. On this question, talking Luiz but then blithely go for it what is so good in itself, people should speak so, but he also heard as soon not with talking to ... well, I was at some point my methodology, I normally the practitioner interviews (this includes a specific set of questions and also to make the common, gradually filling in a sheet), something largely desperate because I Luiz not really a chance to ask questions of other issues were, precisely because he so diligently hinplauderte on. Well, what did he say, I can still use, there was still not much for me this is relevant, but so very compliant because it was given. But not so bad.
What a little aggravating to come, but was very slurred speech by Luiz. I've already understood most of it, but the transcription of the interviews was that despite it was not that long, but a lot of work (even Daniel has some of the things that could not identify, I do not understand ...)

this Wednesday evening, I'm Felicia and Nadia chimarrão to-drink, popcorn-eating mosquitoes and gone to visit.
chimarrão What? Chimarrão is something like the national drink of the gauchos, so the residents of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. And it is fair to say national drink, because, first, the chimarrão in Brazil drunk almost exclusively in Rio Grande do Sul and, secondly, the gauchos feel more than Gaúchos than as a Brazilian (a bit like Bayern in Germany, this is recognized because the whole city at the cry and growls and fireworks is released when "Inter" or "Grêmio", the two high-level Football team from Rio Grande do Sul, to score a goal. In international matches the Brazilian Seleção the city remains calm, however ...). However, the chimarrão the gauchos accompanied always and everywhere, whether in the university in the lectures, at work, even at the gym or walking (if they bring nothing else but the chimarrão and its 2 liters of hot water in the thermos need be). All of focus could be described as the chimarrão Mate tea. But is not just mate tea. It is one of them a whole lot of customs and special accessories. First you need as a drinking vessel, the cuia, a product made from a calabash "Cup". Add to that the bomba, a straw made of metal with a flattened mouthpiece at one end and a strainer is at the other end. Both accessories are usually more ornamented and decorated. Then, most importantly, the erva mate, the mate leaf powder. I had a lot of it comes in the cuia and will be compressed to a certain white, so it vertically instead of horizontally in sets of cuia. You put the Bomba to the whole thing fills with cold water (which is to give the "construction" more strength), the cold water runs through the straw again and spits out the water from again. It contains indeed still a lot of loose material powder and cold tea is not anyway Renner says, right? Thereafter, the chimarrão has come ready to use. He was so filled with hot water and then begin the "fun". The first chimarrão drinkt always the person who prepared it (I explain that as a guarantee that no poison in it), but then goes round the chimarrão and it is enjoyed by all present persons. Yes, all with the same "straw". There are also a number of rules to follow when drinking the chimarrão:

  1. Do not ask for sugar.
  2. not complain about the fact that it was unhygienic, when all drink from the same vessel with the same straw.
  3. not complain about the fact that the chimarrão is too hot.
  4. not be left half, but drink the chimarrão always empty.
  5. not suitable for the slurping sounds at the end of shame.
  6. rumstochern Not with the bomba in chimarrão.
  7. not the order in which the chimarrão is given from one person to the next change.
  8. "asleep" Not with the chimarrão in hand.
  9. not condemn the home side that he drinks the first chimarrão.

ask Because of the many rules, the people here a well, whether you already "Learned" chimarrão has to drink instead of asking simply whether one has ever seen a drunk. At the reception in Rio Grande do Sul, which is available in the rest of Brazil are a pot of coffee, so you can treat yourself to the attendees cafezinho, a small coffee, may also stand in Rio Grande do Sul / solely an operational chimarrão and a thermos with hot water.

and this is my first home-made AND chimarrão functioning. Yes, that simple because that was not because to make. Often you can see also that the people put a small figurine to decorate this green part of Mate. Very cute. 12 meu primeiro chimarrao de verdade!

But when it's cold, so chimarrão definitely a good thing:) (and drink the gauchos him even at 40 degrees in the shade)

... and went with the evening then probably the last warm day end, for already on the way back from Feli and Nadia, only about half a km from where I live Pensao it was pretty cool and has since also changed only slightly. So the beginning of winter. But well, I'm glad that there still so long and warm summer was here in southern Brazil.

on Thursday (28.5.) Because I had to get up early for the next interview with Carlos from the Sindicato de Trabalhadores Rurais de Ijuí, the Syndicate of agricultural workers and small farmers (especially small farmers and family farms). With Carlos the interview was much better than the previous day with Luiz. Overall, Carlos looked a bit disinterested in me, even though he told stories, but this may have simply concerned that he has spoken so slowly (the transcription gave his 50 minute interview recording as much text as the 38 minutes from Luis, and the transcription, the easy going:)). And perhaps it also has to think as I have ascertained in the past in transcription, some quite idiotic demand had been a little late ... but stop when I came home and Feli attention according to me ... not quite so lush even had to hold back during the interview not to yawn ... embarrassing.

And on Friday morning (29.5.), Where it was pretty cold, about 4 degrees ..., then followed directly the interview with Valdir, president of the Sindicato Patronal Rural de Ijuí, the syndicate of farmers with large and medium-sized businesses (ie more than 50 acres). Valdir also liked the speeches like me at the beginning of the first times an introduction to the development of soybean cultivation in the region and given me a whole brought my longest interview recording (1:38 h), while also talking very fast (I would guess 3 full days sitting in transcription. ...), But it was very nice. And I could make all my questions and check off all the parts of my methodology. Actually, we only had to have had time clock at 9:30, because he would have another appointment to go gemusst, but that has not bothered him so much and it was 10:20 clock until I came out of his office. After the interview he has given me more then a pen and a key chain from the syndicate and also take me to my request with a soy-scale producers to interview the name, he came directly and ran the whole thing in the paths.

And here are a few more photos:

Cricket Respiration Lab Answers

A small disaster

On Saturday morning I had to get up early because I went with Tati to their pneumatic lecture on the campus of UNIJUI in Panambi (You remember the dance group from Panambi Yes, exactly, with the "cavalier";)). At 7:20 we picked up a fellow student of Tati Tati at home, get up at 6:45 and that is on Saturday and after only about 5:30 hours sleep, because I had slept with and how Tati's just the way girls are we chatted for ages ... Oh well, but it did.

The campus in Panambi is really tiny (yes, smaller than all campuses of the University of Lüneburg!) And compared to the library in Panambi is the library in Ijuí absolutely huge (I incidentally found out that in Ijuí but actually over 160,000 books have found their place! essential more than I thought): In Panambi the library fits into a larger room ...
And I was proud of me, against my expectations because I'm in the pneumatic lecture even understood what a great deal even in the 2nd, practical part of the course where the teacher is a pneumatic system installed, demonstrated and explained. But in the theory part, I've not only understood Station and was engaged but counted the first time with how often the teacher "no caso" said (in the case). At 150 I was tired and there was not even half an hour to. Yes yes, I know these are trifles, but to me nothing's was all about and it's actually already really long time since I was in a "normal" course was (more than 1.5 years already. Have the last semester but still one or the other made, but these were mostly language courses or any courses).
This Saturday, the students got back their examination of the previous week. Was not that really good, all had 3.0 or 4.5 or something (of 10), but Tati was probably the best work with 8.0: Z) (but the teacher really strictly ...)

for Saturday evening and I had Tati big plans here free beer party in Absoluto, the disco in town and only 5 minutes walk away from my Pensao. The maps we had for as little as R $ 15 (about 5 €) purchased in advance (we were young, we would have paid $ R 25th In Brazil it is almost standard that men pay more than the women). To simplify matters, I had Ilsa Dona asked if Tati could stay that night in the Pensao, since they had a whole little further away lives, and that was no problem and yes I have two beds in the room anyway:) Quite
to start the party we met two girls aged about 16 or 17 years (even the majority of the audience was under 20 ...). At first I was impressed with how nice the two were: First, they provided us with them at the table to sit, when they saw that we were not included, and later she said: "We go dancing now. Will you come? "And since we were only two well, we took the offer gladly. But then, after a while we noticed that one only needed someone she can boss around ("We now go get a drink. Come on!" "No, here it is stupid to dance. We're going over there! ") And the other had only an appendage, so they are not so lost and alone, looked in their forays into the nightclub looking for a guy" para agarrar ", so to smooch (For this they had chosen primarily Tati).

At this point, maybe a slot on the relationship of the Brazilians to smooch, attached: While you need in Germany is ne whole, entire, while to kiss someone or even quasi shows its willingness also to other things, if someone kisses directly to a party where you get to know this person, is the very different in Brazil. One of the primary purposes of Parties is here to actually canoodling with at least one person (if you're single or if you are not too many on loyalty). And depending on how you (no, actually more women) have on it is, before that not many words are made. But often the girls do but at least some are canvassed, while many men are hoping to "Hello, how are you? I would kiss you sooooo much. "To reach the goal. Fine, but in return that they are so fast by kissing it, it will usually include only kissing. It is also passionately kissed and everything but the hands behave. With everything else man would risk a slap in the face. Yes, and that a kiss is also totally non-binding. After you have kissed a person who says no one mind if you kiss another 2 or 3 or 4 others. With such a code would be categorized in Germany directly bitch / asshole. Here we are just someone who cheerfully. This leads often to misunderstandings when Brazilians (s) to Germany (and I think here the cliché is it coming from Brazilians quickly jump into the box would be): the brazilian kissing a German man in a disco, with all the devotion, as it's known from Brazil thinks, but on to nothing. The German man thinks, "Oh, there goes that tonight," and sent soon his hands on the move, after which he by the Brazilian, a slap and a "What do you think of me?" Harvest, and they turn away disgusted by him .
Similarly, there are also differences in the way as it comes to relationships. In Germany, a relationship begins rather implied: you go out together several times, eventually it comes then to kiss and then we are actually more or less together. It is not said a word about it, but derived from the behavior that you are now together. In Brazil it's different: I have to go out with someone, often to kiss and everything, but before the man nor the woman asks if she with him will be, has neither any rights or obligations to the other . It makes a kind of test drive before you set considering.
Well, of course, exceptions to the rule determine, but that's how it usually runs.

Good, but Tati and I thought us that we really do not have to be ordered around by two minors and went so out of the dust.

Tati and me in Absoluto

IMG_1213 I with the two strange girls (which was in the middle of the "commander" and the right one that was always just somebody to Rumknutschen)

IMG_1212 A short time later we discovered also that the beer that was served was expired ... Initially, the beer was directly poured from the bottle into the cup, but eventually they started small beer bottles hand out and as we stood in line for the toilet , said a girl to us, pointing to our bottle of beer: "Drink not, that's expired" In fact, the expiration date on the bottle was exceeded for almost a month and we held the bottle up to the light swam as well as a few flakes Yummy rum in it ... ... So no more beer, but since we had not so much about it and dancing merrily. A little later offered us a couple of guys (who were over 20!) Smirnoff Ice, which we will also gladly accepted as a substitute. A bit suspicious, I was already beginning, because after I took a swig from the bottle, I wanted to return the bottle to their owners, so that drinking more could, but refused and said that I could keep the bottle because he may not like the stuff. I wondered why he had then purchased at all ... I offered him but as long again to the bottle, until at last he also gets his drink, for I thought even if he was drinking it, can nothing be there, if not, then I will bottle had better go very easily. But since then what he drank of it (or maybe he just did so ...), I was calm and so drank Tati and I happily continued with the guys who beischafften more and more and more Smirnoff Ice.
About four clock in the morning we came back to the board and not believe we got there, also had to Tati already passed and slumped quite a bit. I had no problems, however, took a shower on my own feet and cleaned also Tatis feet (in the disco the ground was already grown quite disgusting, because all it has become warm beer is dumped on the floor (Brazilian beer not in excess of 5 degrees really tasty)). Ugh!), Put it than the worst was over in bed and provided them with a still Kotzpott and water before I even went to bed. I was overcome's only when I woke up several hours later and wanted to go to the toilet. At first I thought, "Hmmm, but a bit overdone last night .... Well, then you will have the toilet three or four times a call and then it will be good. "But it did not stay for three or four times and also Tati did when she woke up where they left off before going to bed. The anti-vomit medication that gave us Sandra, who lives in the boarding house, helped, no nothing. And also bagged my cycle ever further and with time my cycle sagged steadily decreasing. I was completely pale and made it not even me really well to stay awake. Said Sandra decided at some point in the early afternoon to take us to the hospital. And that was a good thing, especially in my case (yes Tati had "liberated" from the evening has a complete set and therefore was not her's quite as bad but still bad enough). We were both very dehydrated and I already had some shock phenomena. The doctor also said that as well what had been possible in our drinks, because alone of alcohol can get that (and so much exaggeration we were now actually not), not even expired beer ... But after the drugs, one liter infusion and a little sleep during the infusion made her way, we were again reasonably established, so that we could go home.

Well, since I was not really at a party here, but for the next (n), I've definitely learned from this story ...

Haircut For Mid Thirties Men

The internship

In this my second week here, where the weather was again a sunny, warm, "Brazilian" page, I devoted myself more at home than the books in the library for some books by Sidnei, which he had lent me wanted to be quickly given back to him.

On Monday evening (18.5.) Feli I met again, this time also with Nadia, (a Brazilian who lives with Feli in the WG and the German ancestry, and also get the German language and has included the Hunsrück dialect in it from time to time also eindeutscht a Portuguese word. She is an excellent example that do not study all the people that computer science nerds and have no idea about the "real life" have), John (another German from Karlsruhe, who in Ijuí and relatives here in the children's home placement makes. In spite of the similarities here he speaks (as yet) hardly Portuguese (was only for a month in Brazil) and if so, with emphasis Badenser hehehehe very funny! It is me, for example on the next following day dawned on what it means to be "Lahdakriannsa" is all about, where he works -> lar da criança [(Please also pronounce the r) lar because kriahnssa] = children's home) and Michael, a friend of John and fellow student of Feli.

On Tuesday morning (19.5.) I finally had my first interview and that in the COTRIJUI the agricultural cooperative / cooperative Ijuí. There I had an appointment with Leo, who is in the seed trade cooperative and responsible action in this case in particular for the sale of seeds and also for many years and in the neighboring cooperative and colleague of Walter, my supervisor was here. My interview contacts I get here all of the people I know who know someone and then so on. A bit stupid if you know anyone, but that does not happen really. Over a few corners you can always find someone and the people here are just simply helpful. And informal Make contacts has another advantage: the people take up in this way very happy to welcome and are still helpful.
The first interview is of course always a bit bumpy, but overall it was not really bad.

I asked Leo then also take me to a soybean seed-producing farmers in contact, which he did promptly (actually prompt). And so I met at the selfsame afternoon, back in the COTRIJUI with Cláudio. The rains, however, had little time pressure and we talked briefly (very nice gentleman) and the whole thing then adjourned to a day that's. Sounds funny, but has the sense. that these days he does not work in the field must / And can therefore be time has (until now it has it rained only on the weekend and I wanted him now do not even call ...)

Wednesday was the beauty given to: I went with Tati as a hairdresser was (slowly and really needed ... ). Wash, cut, blow dry and many hair care tips for R $ 15 (about 5 €)! nachzufärben Just to my tresses at the base, because they wanted R $ 70 (about 24 €), and yet without stain, and I thought then that with ner highlights package from the drugstore in Germany is also cheaper.
When the hairdresser told me that were not suitable for me quite as long hair, because I was so great Person is and work through the long hair would only grow, I had put to him and a laugh. This is the relatively large size and as I will consider only here in Germany, however small, even as a little ... well, but I also found that the hair was too long.
all, there are extremely rare here in Brazil hairdressers as ours, with several hairdressers, set up more or less fashionable, etc. At least I've never seen conscious. Include here those are mostly very small shops or the people do at home to make their garage or a small house built in the garden as it was at our hairdresser the case (which does not mean now, but is that their "salon" was not smart, on the contrary!)

Joah and Thursday (21.5.) had as Tati birthday and I was invited for afternoon coffee with the neighbors and neighbors. Well, the Tati seen by me on the other side of the center lives, because I had the opportunity to buy on the way to her a gift. Not so easy to find something for someone, because you know not even 2 weeks. But mission completed:)

Speaking of "on the way": I think just from the tracks that I put back here because I always do everything on foot, I would need almost no gym more. But now I've got it already paid for and actually doing it quite well after a whole day at my "huge" desktop to move!

So, and here there's now a few more pictures of my Pensao:

This here is the Rua Henrique Knudsen, which is on the left side of my Pensao (the image I have in the beginning of the road made standing, is So a very small street)

07 Rua Henrique Knudsen The main streets in town are all beautiful and well paved, but the side streets all look really like with "Hacksenbrechern" paved.

This is because the right side of the road, left typical for the region wooden house of the "Grandma," the mother of Dona Use, which has 75 strong years in the hotel business in the laundry, for example, collaborate and residents of the pension (see on the clothesline in the front yard;) & # 160;) ironed out) and right below, the board itself 08 casa da Oma e pensao And this is the board itself, the rooms are in the 2-story rear building (above the boys, the girls below) . In the front house of Cortona, the home of the family, the kitchen and dining area (where there are glass doors on the left and the people also are just at lunch). The original house is you no longer see, because the part was with kitchen and dining room built around the original wood-family residence. Means sitting at dinner, we at the windows of the rooms of the family, where even the shutters and even the Grid are tuned.

And these are Mara and me. Mara lives just two nights a week at the inn, a member of the theater group of UNIJUI and in the process of completing her Master's (and I had a little in the knees for the photo. So much for my "size" hehehehe)
